FootyTuber is a browser studio for football channels to record and live stream shows with remote guests. This page says what information it handles, why, and who else is involved.
Who we are
FootyTuber is a product of Follow Sports, a partnership based in the United Kingdom. Where this page says "we" or "us", it means Follow Sports, which decides how and why your information is used (in data protection law, the "controller"). Questions, or requests to see or remove your information, go to everyweekwefollowavfc@gmail.com.
Your account
To use the studio you need an account. We keep your email address, the name of your channel, the club your show follows, when you joined, whether the account is approved, in trial, paid or blocked, and rough counts of how much the studio is used (studios opened, guests joined, and minutes streamed and recorded). We use these to run your account and to understand what the service costs to provide. While FootyTuber is in closed beta we set accounts up ourselves, from the email address you give us. When anyone can sign up, a new account is approved by us before it can be used, and we are emailed your name and email address when you sign up.
Signing in
Sign-in is handled by WorkOS, a sign-in provider. You can use an email address and password, a code sent to your email, or your Google account. WorkOS holds your sign-in details, including your password if you set one, and tells us your email address and name once it has checked them. We never see your password. If you choose Google, Google shares your name, email address and profile picture with WorkOS; we use only the name and email address.
YouTube
You can connect your YouTube channel to stream to it. FootyTuber uses YouTube API Services, and by connecting a channel you agree to the YouTube Terms of Service. The Google Privacy Policy also applies.
With that access FootyTuber reads your channel's name, creates, schedules, starts, ends and removes live broadcasts on your channel, sets a broadcast's title, description, tags and thumbnail, and reads and posts messages in the broadcast's live chat so you can show comments on screen and reply. It does nothing else with your channel. Chat messages are shown in the studio while you are live and are not stored.
The connection is kept in an encrypted cookie in your browser. It is not stored in our database, shared with anyone, or used for advertising. Disconnecting YouTube in the studio or signing out removes it, and you can withdraw FootyTuber's access at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
FootyTuber's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Other streaming services
You can add a stream key for another service so a stream is sent there at the same time. Stream keys are stored encrypted, used only to send your stream, and removed when you delete the destination in the studio.
What you make and upload
Your studios, looks, scenes, lineups, squad and settings are stored so they are there next time. Files you upload (backgrounds, overlays, logos, clips and player photos) are stored too, at web addresses that anyone who has the address can open, so don't upload anything you want kept private. Each account's studios, files and settings are kept apart from every other account's. Recordings are saved to your own computer, not to us.
Guests
Guests join with a link and a display name, and need no account. Their camera and microphone are sent to the studio through LiveKit so they can take part, and may appear in the recording or live stream the host makes. FootyTuber does not keep guests' names, video or audio after the session, beyond the recording or stream itself, which belongs to the host.
Lineups sent in by fans
If you send a lineup through a link you were given, the name you enter and the lineup are stored so the host can show them. Ask the host, or us, if you want them removed.
Contacting us
If you use the contact form, your name, email address and message are emailed to us so we can reply.
Cookies
FootyTuber sets one cookie, which keeps you signed in. WorkOS sets its own on its sign-in page for the same purpose. Your browser also remembers studio settings such as your display name and layout. There are no advertising or tracking cookies, and no analytics.
Who else handles your information
We don't sell your information or share it for advertising. These companies handle it on our behalf so the service can run: Vercel (hosting and uploaded files), Upstash (the database), LiveKit (live video and audio), WorkOS (sign-in), Google (Google sign-in and YouTube) and Resend (the emails described above).
Keeping and deleting
We keep your account and what is in it for as long as the account is open. Ask us to close it and we delete the account and everything stored with it: studios, looks, lineups, fan links, squad, stream destinations and uploaded files, and have your sign-in details removed from WorkOS.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, or to stop or limit how we use it. Email us at the address above and we will reply within a month. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office, the UK's data protection regulator, at ico.org.uk.
